A SOCIAL MEDIA "ACQUAINTANCE":

I have a social media "acquaintance".  For privacy, lets just call him J. Paul Amen:

I am very rarely on FB.  Even more so, do I rarely comment on posts.  It's just not worth my time.
I realize you did not write this post, but you did share it so I assume you agree with it.  SO DO I.

Here's a true story that involves YOU:
Some time ago, you and I worked for the same company.  Time came for that company to grow and had the need to add a leadership position. Management decided to promote from within the company.  *Keep in mind, the majority of upper management was men (very patriarchal).

3 people were considered for that position; you were one of them.  After much consideration, management decided to offer YOU the position because YOU were the most qualified.  It included a title promotion and an increase in salary.  You accepted the position, took the role and the pay increase with a smile on your face; adding to the patriarchy.

The 2nd candidate was a female.  You did NOT go to management and tell them that you think the company should be more diverse so you decline the promotion and suggest the position go to the female instead.  Seems like you had a hand in the Patriarchy.  She was a female - but YOU took the position regardless.  Seems a bit misogynistic to me.  Oh, and she was gay.  But you took the position. Wow!  Homophobic much?  Hmmmm....

The 3rd candidate was black man.  YOU did NOT go to management and say "thanks but no thanks. We need more Affirmative Action at this company. I think you should give the promotion and pay increase to the black man". You accepted the position without a second thought.  Kinda racist if you ask me.

Ya know my social media acquaintance,  I never would've expected YOU to be a typical white misogynistic, racist, homophobe who supports patriarchy. But, ya never know!  Although I agree with your stance on such things,  I am disgusted by your actions.  I guess a persons true colors shine through when certain things apply to others, but NOT themselves.  SHAME ON YOU!
